Josefina Shen | Managing Director

Ms. Shen has more than 15 years of experience across private equity and public market investments in Asia. Prior to joining Sierra Asia, Ms. Shen was a member of RimAsia Capital Partners, a pan-Asian private equity firm, where she was responsible for fundraising, sourcing, and executing investment opportunities. She was also responsible for portfolio management in China, occasionally serving on secondment to companies, where she implemented management changes, downsized operations, spun off and sold assets, collected accounts receivables and pursued business development strategies.

Prior to that, Ms. Shen worked in various positions at a number of Asia-based private equity and buyout firms, including at Newbridge Capital (the Asia-based affiliate of the Texas-Pacific Group), the Equinox Group and Peregrine Direct Investments. While at these firms, Ms. Shen was involved in deal sourcing throughout Asia, evaluation and investment execution, fundraising and investor relations. Ms. Shen's industry experience includes banking and finance, food, retailing, telecommunications, distribution, pulp and paper, pharmaceuticals, fertilizer, hospitality, semiconductor equipment, and environmental resources.

Ms. Shen received a bachelor degree in East Asian Studies, from Columbia University in 1989 and an International Management Fellowship and MBA from the Andersen School at the University of California, Los Angeles, in 1993. Ms. Shen is based in China.
